Pillars of Hercules – illuminated at night in South Cheyenne Canyon, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The roadway to Seven Falls passes between these gigantic rocks, and they as well as the entire canyon and the falls themselves, are lighted at night during the summer season.

this is a little delayed, due to the student symposium and the beginning of paleoecology… I had a very good time in Colorado – it was a nice break before hitting academia agin. Our class trip to GSA in Indiana was fun as well, lots of geologists in one place talking about their research. I am looking forward to seeing you on Easter, if that is still going to work out!
