South Amana, Iowa

We’ve had a good time here. Our Inn was friendly and cozy and there’s lots to see – and eat! Thank you for sending me a copy of Allie’s letter. Appreciate it. Hope Las Vegas was fun.

Do you recognize this carillon? We stayed here last night after a nice visit with Dorothy and Howard Burton in Marion, Iowa. It is rainy and foggy this a.m. so will not be nice to see Iowa State. We will have lunch in Ft Dodge with Frances.

Green Acres, N. of K.C., Hway 35

I had forgotten about this area. K and I suppered in Ames – missed all the motels in Des Moines (expecting more on south side) drove thru Osceola, Leon, Lamoni (all far out of way and deserted at 11 pm with the few motels full or closed). FINALLY found a nice (and inexpensive) room at Eagleville, Missouri. Now we’re way ahead of schedule – plan to visit Jesse James birthplace and other irrelevant places to kill time. An adventure indeed!

What a loot – all I need now is a nose ring – thanks. I guess I gave the guard rings hard use thru the years because I loved them. Could you please send me directions for the Kint outlet for yarn. I saw something like in Lion Brand catalog. Your stay was much too short. Jean looks great! Showers continue in a timely manner. Hope to see you in the fall. Swimming has helped.
