I am now watching the news on BBCI-TV! Yesterday, my first “watching” was the Queen opening parliament, in all her jewels and satins – horses and gold carriage. Great! Today was damp and dark but walking to the market (street) on Stevinstraat through the park was rather nice. Not cold.

Love to you, Va

Your letter/clipping just came. The photos are wonderful – make me nostalgic for Burma – especially good of Pagan.

We are still raining and chilly – especially in the aft and eve. Depressing. Alicia is coming for supper tonight, we’ll got to Rotterdam Concert tomorrow – maybe with Gunta.

I’m trying to get apt ready for family.

We made it ok, bags and all. Kees met us with 2 bouquets of flowers (tulips, yet!) and wearing his big snow boots! It is cold, snowy and white-foggy. Rather eerie, but pretty and very chilly. Will write more later.

T&Family left for Utrecht today hoping to get in some biking along the Vecht river. I sure hope all goes well. We went out tonight for supper with Alicia and Gormbleys (here for 2 weeks). Took Tom’s to Enkhuisen on Sunday – had a nice day and a good time. I mailed your skirt – hope it looks ok. If not, don’t wear it! Did you have a good time in Madison? I see your Mpls temp is high.

Family arrived 7 am yesterday – are all on different sleeping schedules! I hope you are having a good weekend with Jane. I am mailing your skirt – Jean was too overloaded to take it, I felt.

At last, it is warm – yesterday was sunny, today also. Trams to beach have been packed. Realtor are showing our apt – most awkward now with gusts!

Hi- We went to this Kinderdijk area today with Alicia in the van and saw at least 18 windmills – went through one. All are actually lived in and work. Not much wind so they weren’t doing too well today – but quite a sight.

We spent Thursday in Delft – ate pannekokens, took the canal trip, saw market and church. We also ordered a Delft (real!) plate inscribed for DBill and Paul’s anniversary from all of us. Also went to Hook of Holland and thought of you. Wish you were here.
