July 1965

I have been so busy in New York we haven’t done anything very exciting. We had lunch today with the Lindsey family. You will remember Karen from seeing her in Burma. I hope you are still having a great time.

Arrived ok New York – messenger met me for FF mailed Tom’s shoes. Sent Jane’s telegram. Forgot my health card so got revaccinated!!

I arrived ok and met with the consultant last night. Slept late and loafed. Will go to Hardins for dinner soon and then Lowell and I will go to Princeton.

Syracuse, New York

July 2000

I’m sorry I haven’t written sooner but it is taking me a while to adjust to life here. And yet it is still moving by so quickly. I have also been drinking coffee, but not every day. I am working on writing my proposal for research right now. I think that I can enjoy being here. My research is going to be all inside, which I knew but it is still hard! And yet the project is very worth doing. NY so far reminds me of Minnesota, except with more hills.
