Dear K

These are some of the locals in their native dress!

I am leaving tomorrow and it’s just too soon. Though I am kinda beat as we’ve covered a helluva lot of ground since I got here. Amsterdam is my favorite place I’ve seen on this thrip and I really enjoyed the museums you suggested. We went to Bergen, Norway yesterday. The ride is gorgeous!

Write to me soon and let’s start planning our next trip!

Vincent Van Gogh

July

Went to the National Gallery in Oslo to see “the scream” (smaller than expected) and guess what – here was this Van Gogh hidden away with a few French paintings! All well so far – loud music and partying until very late (only dark for an hour or two). Leave Oslo for the country on Monday.

The organ and royal pew

Greetings from Norway.

This is our second day of sightseeing in Oslo. We visited this lovely old cathedral this am. It was built in the 16oo’s. The cities are exciting but we prefer the mountains and glaciers of Western Norway which we enjoyed on our boat trip.

Hope you are having a pleasant summer.

Passed the arctic circle on the train to Bodo. Quite chilly as you can imagine. Supposed to be lots of sea eagles but have only seen sculptures so far. This afternoon we are taking a bus to view the Maelstrom and then at midnight, weather permitting, a little bus-train up a mountain to view the midnight sun! This weekend — fjord country!

Greetings

You should be here – There is still snow – even down at our level – but melting and mountains are striped with silvery streams and waterfalls! Lovely. Ours was first boat trip to have sunshine this summer – brought it from Florida.

Aloha, Katherine

Hi and Tarnation!

Your care package has been delayed – Word came yesterday that they needed help with your address. I know I sent it all. Well I faxed it yesterday so you will have it by the time you read this.
