This channel connects the upper and lower lakes of Minnetonka. Lake Minnetonka, located about 15 miles west of Minneapolis has over 300 miles of shoreline. It is noted for its scenic beauty, fishing, sailing and in summer playground. A large amusement park is on the water’s edge at Excelsior, Minnesota

Dear Kathy

Greetings from N’Djamena (which used to be called Ft Lamy). Arrived here yesterday via Doula, Cameroon. It is hot – 95 degrees or more when we landed. We will be here until Saturday when we fly to Paris for a connection to Abidjan. A long way around but much shorter in time.

Glen Canyon Dam, Page, Arizona

Rising 580 feet above the river this new dam will retain the water of the Colorado to form beautiful Lake Powell with the 1800 miles of shore line in the Glen Canyon Recreation Area.

Hi

This is a very beautiful city and this church especially lovely. It has a colorful tile roof also. It is small and rather cozy. The big church is St Stephen and is cold and unimpressive inside. We did a city tour yesterday, will do museums today, hope for a boat trip on the Danube and to go to opera Sunday.
