Well, coming up on our last night on the road. We are shooting for Omaha and are about an hour and half out. I am having a great time. We spent 2 days in CA and left Friday am. Thursday Val and I spent in San Fran most of it down in Fisherman’s Wharf. It was fun to be back in the City. We spent a bit of time just driving around and past the park outside of either China or Japantown, the one with the Pagoda – not sure if you remember. Exciting to find it!

I had forgotten about this area. K and I suppered in Ames – missed all the motels in Des Moines (expecting more on south side) drove thru Osceola, Leon, Lamoni (all far out of way and deserted at 11 pm with the few motels full or closed). FINALLY found a nice (and inexpensive) room at Eagleville, Missouri. Now we’re way ahead of schedule – plan to visit Jesse James birthplace and other irrelevant places to kill time. An adventure indeed!

Dear
Staid in St Louis last night – that is, getting to the hotel at 1:30 am. But we feel rested. Started to Oklahoma City at seven 30 but stopped here for a bite to eat. It is a wonderful place! The weather is grand and we are OK. This place is on the edge of Ozarks and so pretty – Looks a lot like around Lodi. Only divided highway mostly. Next transfer will be Okla City. Hope you both are rested from yesterday.
