Greetings to you on my birthday. We are at airport waiting for plane to Singapore. I have found Bangkok and the people to be great as I expected. See you next month.

Emperor Humayun’s tomb built by his wife in 1555. In this tomb sleep many princes and Emporor of Delhi. This building is next to Taj.

Actually postcard is not correct. Building was completed in 1572 and is not next to the Taj.

Yesterday we drove the Khyber Pass to the Afghanistan border. It was a real thrill! This was the route Marco Polo took, in fact, all trade and armies from Europe to Asia. It is still much the same. This part of the world is fabulous!

Remember the 3-wheelers in Rangoon? These are highly decorated ones. We came up to Islamabad today, the all new city which is now capitol of Pakistan. It is a very beautiful area – not far from the Khyber pass into Afghanistan. We got lots of mail that had been forwarded to us the other day. Hope to get a letter from you before we leave here. Karachi was fun.

Kowloon, Hong Kong

November 1954

We arrived yesterday after a nice flight. We tried to get caught up on new clothes, hamburgers, and milk today! This is really a fabulous place – beautiful, too. We are staying in Kowloon with a nice view of Harbor, ships and Hong Kong.
