Last week we took a tour of Parliament rather than have class. It was interesting. We’ve seen a couple of plays – the other night Shakespeare in an outdoor theatre. Today we took a bus to Stonehenge. Needless to say I am keeping busy.

The postcard says, View of Lake Atitlan, a great tourist attraction. Land of Eternal Spring.

Here I am at Lake Atitlan, about 1967. The lake is actually a collapsed volcanic cone.

This is the gondola we see outside our window and the one President Ford rode in up to give his speech on top of the mountain. I haven’t been up in it yet – maybe tomorrow. It is misty and chilly today.

(We spent a week in Vail playing tennis and hiking. We actually saw President Ford getting out of the gondola.)

“One of the newest and most popular winter resorts in the “Valley of the Sun” is the spacious modern Camel Back Inn, located in the heart of the desert near Phoenix, a resort of real charm.”

This is a picture of the Queen’s refurbished castle in the Hague (Paleis Huis ten Bosch). She and family are moving in today so flags are flying, there is music and dancing all over the city. A “tub race” is going on in the park near my apartment. I’m going to walk over and see what it is.

We arrived yesterday after a nice flight. We tried to get caught up on new clothes, hamburgers, and milk today! This is really a fabulous place – beautiful, too. We are staying in Kowloon with a nice view of Harbor, ships and Hong Kong.

Well, we aren’t in Mallaig anymore. We are in Oban. The weather at Mallaig was terrible. We went from there to Skye for a day trip and got drenched from head to foot. It was pretty bad on the trip down here, too, but today has been beautiful and sunny. We took a day trip today to Mull and Iona. Really nice. We have to do laundry tomorrow before we head to Glasgow. (We stayed in Mallaig about where this photo was taken from.)

Rec’d your card last night sorry I had planned on going home, but haven’t been home for so long the folks are awfully anxious to see me.

I am now sitting in the Stanley Hotel in Athens, Greece. We arrived on a sunny afternoon but now that sunny afternoon has evolved into clouds and prospects of rain. Tomorrow it’s a full day city tour. Sunday is Greek Independence Day – possible riots. We are sitting here enjoying the fact that we opted to not go to Russia. The Acropolis is really impressive in real life!
