Well, coming up on our last night on the road. We are shooting for Omaha and are about an hour and half out. I am having a great time. We spent 2 days in CA and left Friday am. Thursday Val and I spent in San Fran most of it down in Fisherman’s Wharf. It was fun to be back in the City. We spent a bit of time just driving around and past the park outside of either China or Japantown, the one with the Pagoda – not sure if you remember. Exciting to find it!

Walked on the pier – a bit chilly in the wind but the sun has been warm. Lots of surfers on the beaches but not many swimmers.

See you soon, love, Tim

We are currently flying over Utah, with breathtaking views of the mountains. The trip was fun, sunny and warm. Everything we did worked out very well. I did get sunburned despite many layers of sunscreen, but I guess I should have expected that. I hope you are both well. I should see you at the end of March when I come home for block break.

Wouldn’t you love to live in this fairy tale house? The drive down the coast was a delight. In San Jose today – go home via AmTrack tomorrow – Will answer your good birthday letter soon. Thanks for remembering!

The Pink Lady, corner of 2nd and M. Old Town Eureka. The Pink Lady was built as a wedding present from William Carson, builder of the Carson Mansion, to his son Milton in 1899. This is considered to be one of the finest examples of Queen Anne Victorian architecture in the Untied States and is constructed of redwood inside and out.

Now in Yosemite – beautiful but hot, and too many people and bears.

The Firefall was produced when cedar bark embers were pushed from the rim of Yosemite Valley. The display was discontinued in 1969 because it attracted hundreds of visitors into Valley meadows nightly, damaging vegetation and causing traffic jams.

Wanted you to know our new address. John got promoted and transferred. I’ll write the details when we get settled. Keep in touch – I’m not dead, only married!

Am sitting here in the condo watching it snow. We’ve already had 12 inches today – too much for skiing or anything else. We’re hoping to spend tomorrow skiing tho!

We’re off in about an hour to dinner at the casino’s in South Lake Tahoe. We are seeing John Denver for the dinner show. See you soon.
