Mt. Nebo-Siyagha. The basin of the Baptistry in the Memorial of Moses

The Hague, Feb, 1982

Hi

This is one of the many mosaics beautifully preserved in Jordan. Twas good visiting with you last week, hope the snow is abating. Yesterday the 2 Alicias and I went up north of Amsterdam to the Frisian Floral Fair and it was just fantastic. This whole building filled with flowers — mostly bulbs (tulips, crocus, daffodils) in every color of the rainbow (even black tulips!). We bought some sprouted bulbs to plant in pots inside which should bloom in 6 wks — we hope! Bill is due on Tuesday, we go to the St Martins in the Field concert in Amsterdam that nite. It is still hold here.

Dear

Greetings from Zimbabwe. Weather is lovely – in the 70s and hotel is nice. You should have studied agriculture so you could travel :-). My trip to China in Juse is now definitely on.

See you soon, Love, Bill

Happy Father’s Day!

Wait, that isn’t for you… It was nice to chat with you in Madison. Hope you had fun after we left. Here’s another battle scene for your collection from the Zurich Museum.

Love Tim and K

Feb 10, 2022 – Today is actually my father’s 102nd birthday. He sent me many of these postcards and helped to build my collection. He visited 90 countries by his 90th birthday. These days he doesn’t have much desire to travel but he loves to hear about others’ travels. He very much enjoyed my recent trip to Egypt and the photos of my son on the camel. I see him most weekends for lunch and I often hear new stories of his life.

Happy Birthday, Bill!

St Nicholas Chursh, Belfry and St Bavon Cathedral

The Hague, June, 1984

Hi

This is a beautiful Flemish city as you can see. We had a good time sightseeing (at last it is sunshiny), eating, etc. We stopped in Waterloo yesterday to see and learn about Napoleon’s great defeat. Gruesome, but interesting. Mary (your old nanny) wants to visit you and Tim and Tom – is driving with Elizabeth and her husband in July. She may call you – I’ve sent her letter to Tom. So you are alerted. Remember she’s the one who gave you the chocolate pudding!

Hi

I’ve just come from the top of the Mt. where Moses was buried and saw the Dead Sea from there. I’ve got to read my bible when I get home!! Such a nice young college prof. has been “sightseeing” me and I’ve learned much from her. It is a lovely little city with an almost perfect climate (tho a bit chilly this morn.) built on hills with terrific views. I go home on Sun., Bill to Africa.

Sorry for not phoning you while in U.S. We only stayed a few days. We had an around the world trip to Japan and Asia, was great. However, everything goes down the closer you get to India. Will return to the funny farm tomorrow – perhaps I don’t have a job – been gone for 3 months. I guess our father will depart soon – big changes. Don’t know what to expect. Write when you have time.

PS: Note tennis shoes on “nature dance”

Arrived OK yesterday morning. Found my visa had expired even though there was not expiry date indicated on it. However, got a new visa here.

Weather cool – 40 to 50 – dry and nice. I get the BBC news very well so will keep up on World news. All the team members are here and we start work today.
