Hi

This is a great spot – everything very slow and relaxed! We only wish you and the boys were here, too. Not much surf, so even I am enjoying the sea. Bill goes to Montserrat (another island nearby) tomorrow to stay overnight so I hope to get my Christmas cards done.

Dear

Arrived here at 4:00 am this morning and slept a bit. Spending the day reading and resting. On my stopover in Singapore (8 hours) I took a day room at the Hyatt got my hair cut, bought Alicia’s blouses and slept 2 hours. It is sunny and warm here. Tomorrow I go to Katherine.

The Top End is the common term used to cover the part of the Territory north of Mataranka. It has a rugged beauty, enhanced by rugged escarpments and spectacular waterways.

Dear

How is life? I meant to write to you earlier but have been so busy looking after my brood with no nanny and steward!! I have almost finished shopping. We are arriving on the 18th Sept by lunch time. My husband has gone back. This summer he was coming going all the time! Next year I will not allow holidays with business!

This close-up view of the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, in St James’s Park, captures a moment in the daily ceremony of the Changing of the Queen’s Guard. It is a colourful occasion much loved by Londoners and visitors alike.

Greetings from Vienna

It is indeed a beautiful city and this morning I wandered round some of the old bits behind the Opera House and St Stephen’s Cathedral. The air is so fresh and the trees are still in their spring greenery.

I did enjoy meeting you both and having the freedom of your home. Very many thanks for your welcome and hospitality, and I don’t forget so let me know if you are to be anywhere near Aberdeen.

All good wishes to you.

This music is just great – last nite we went to a sort of calypso concert… I got me a new bathing suit and some white slacks. Dresses are really short here! Tomorrow we’re off to Madrid. Brrr.

The steel bands, like the calypso singing of Trinidad are world famous. The instruments fashioned from tops of steel drums and other discarded pieces are capable of rendering fine music under the skillful fingers of local players.

Dear

It was so good talking to you. We received your good letter today. I’m taking the train back to Wisconsin tomorrow evening. New York has finally cooled off a little bit – hope Camp has, too! We have seen two plays and three very funny movies. I bought books to take as presents. Some for you too. Do you like this card? It is by a famous painter. He likes bullfights!
