Had a nice time at Treetops – saw lots of wild game. It is beautiful here (Mt Kenya)- and chilly. Have a fireplace in my room which I use. Meetings going well but saddened by death of R. Kennedy. (McGeorge) Bundy leaving tonight for funeral.

Imposing ancient Pyramid of the Sun, Almost seven hundred feet at the base, rises to a height of over two hundred feet. This postcard is from the 1960’s. It looks much different today with a lot more excavations.
I climbed this several times. Below a friend of mine is climbing it in the late 1970’s.
Villa Carlotta, Lake Como
In June, 2014, I spent a week on Lake Como and took the photo below. We didn’t go in but had a lovely dinner at a place down the street.

Above is a postcard of the Patio of the Lions gallery at the Alhambra in Granada. I spent two glorious days at the Alhambra. Below is a photo I took of the lions.
April 12 is International Day of Human Space Flight. It commemorates the anniversary of the first human manned space flight buy Yuri Gargarin on April 12, 1961. Gargarin was 27 years old and he circled the Earth for 1 hour and 48 minutes.
Here I am holding my child up against the statue of Yuri Gargarin in Moscow, Russia. I love that statue.
The Burren Region of north-west Clare of Blackhead, between Fenore and Ballybaughan on the Atlantic Coast.

Here I am at Lake Atitlan, about 1967. The lake is actually a collapsed volcanic cone.
Historical Marker, Prescott, Wisconsin:
“The St Croix River joins the Mississippi here. In 1680 explorers Hennepin and DuLhut both passed this point. About 1755 this area was the site of a surprise attack in which over 335 Sioux were killed by Chippewa Indians. In 1827 Fort Snelling army officers made the first claim for a town site in the upper Mississippi country at this location. To hold the claim, Philander Prescott, an Indian interpreter and trader, established a trading post and ferry across the St Croix here in 1839.”
Prescott is a small town of about 4,500 people. On summer weekends it is flooded with motorcycle riders. We saw close to 100 just in the short time we were there. They kind of overwhelmed the two block downtown area. But down the river(s) it was very pleasant with lots of boaters.
Up the road a ways is Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Ellsworth is the cheese curd capital of of Wisconsin and has a cheese curd festival every summer.
