Hi

This is the outside of the church pictured below. We’ve had a nice time. Back to Den Haag today. See you soon.

Hi

This is a very beautiful city- and this church espec. lovely. It has a colorful tile roof also. It is small and rather cozy. The big church is St Stephen and is cold and unimpressive inside. We did a city tour yesterday, will do museums today, hope for a boat trip on the Danube and to go to opera Sun.

Our trip gets better all the time!! We saw a marvelous hour-long dance yesterday plus many other interesting things on a tour. This hotel is even better than the Pierre Marques – with a little Hindu temple on the grouds where dances are given. We’ve decided to stay in Fiji for several days instead of Tahiti on the advice of everyone.

Djanger Dance is such interesting that some of the tourists returned with a group Djanger dancers to perform in their country.

Hi

How was vacating in Texas, y con su hermano? All the time I’ve been picturing myself in Nigeria. It’s fun here though, in fact fantastic (I know how much skiing excites you!).

Right now, you’re probably flying across the Atlantic, and my ankles hurt. It got up to about 70 degrees today and we were skiing in slush. Switzerland is getting it together for spring. I didn’t buy a white dress, but no regrets, see you manana.

Hi

Had a tour yesterday of Roman ruins, mosques, shopping (got a rug!!) and I waded in the sea here and we had cold drinks in the “casbah” in the old fort behind! Hot but breezy – lots of old friends here. Many have asked about you.

Hi

I have just finished the “city bus tour” – 4 hrs of assimilating history, tramping thru castles (real ones) and churches, and looking at glorious views. This is a lovely city and I’m greatly impressed with the natural beauty – at least from the airport here by bus – about 60 miles. Hope you got home ok.

Here is a photo I took when I was there in 1980.

Sending you our love from Taichung!

The weather is lovely. We had a nice visit in Hong Kong with a niece and her family. Our friends are here also, though haven’t had a chance to meet them yet.

The Astrodome

February, 1966

We did leave Mexico finally at 9:10 am by American and had a wonderful flight much better than Braniff. E. met us at customs and took us home for lunch and left there about 1:30. They had three inches of snow in San Antonio, first in 40 years. We arrived here at 5:15 and went to the Rodeo at the Astrodome last night. Doc and Festus were guest stars, Jimmy Dean is to be here the 28th – would have preferred him! Enjoying every minute still.

Love

Inside the Astrodome – this is the first thing you see when you enter the Astrodome Club. It is a bar 10 feet long, the longest in Texas. You can get yourself a drink, turn around and walk six steps, and enjoy what’s taking place down on the field.

The Astrodome opened in 1965 and was still in use for various things until the early 2000’s. It was the world’s first multi-purpose domed stadium.

Jakarta – August, 1988

Dear

We hope you are having a nice birthday! We are weekending in Jakarta in a lovely hotel, have been shopping in a wonderful dept. store – more than a whole floor of batiks. I could spend a week just looking! The guesthouse is full of Australians at the moment – interesting all and I’m not alone all day as I was at first. But I manage to keep busy.

Love and Kisses
