Arizona

One of the nation’s most famous scenic attractions, the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, is located on the northern plateau of Arizona. East of the Grand Canyon are the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest.

The metropolitan centers of Phoenix and Tucson are not far from the cow towns, trading posts, Indian villages and pueblos which are important in the development of the state. One-seventh of the Indian population of the United States is centered in Arizona.
